What are they?

Image Extensions will show alongside your search ads. They are dynamic extensions meaning you will not get to choose when they show up or what they look like. Google will pick the image from the landing page. You are able to opt-out of image extensions if you feel like they are not helping your click-through rate.

They are still in Beta mode, but should be rolling out to everyone in 2020.

What will they look like?

Where will they appear?

They will show on mobile first. They can show alongside search ads at the top of the page. The image will be clickable and go to the same landing page as the ads.

How do I get them in my account?

Google is rolling them out a few accounts at a time. Once they are available in an account you will be able to opt-in. The opt-in is under the Extensions tab. You will need to verify that you own or have permission to use the images on your site.
