WebFaction Setup

Setup WebFaction Domain, Application, Website, Database, and Database User

• Go to Domains/Websites -> Domains and add both www.clientdomain.com and clientdomain.com (www’s and non www’s)
• Go to Domains/Websites -> Applications and create a “Static” Application with the default “App type”.  Name it something like “clientdomain_com”.  Save the application name to your notepad for a future step.
• Go to Domains/Websites -> Websites and link the 2 domains you added to the application you created.  Name it the same as the application
• Go to Databases -> Databases and create a mySQL database. Name it something like clientwebsitedb.  Paste the name you choose to your notepad for future use.  While on this screen, also create a new mySQL user to be the database owner.  If character count allows, name it the same as the database.  Have Last Pass generate a 24 character password for the user.  Save the username and password to your notepad for future use.
